A group of Oklahoma volunteers just returned from flood-ravaged Texas.
Deanne Butler and Pam Hixson, along with JaBarron and Mudcat the search dogs, are volunteers with East Oklahoma K-9.
They left home last Saturday and came back Tuesday.
The Oklahoma search teams went through piles of debris left along the banks of the Blanco River.
"The wall of water that hit was 40' high and left damage from as high up bluffs as 80' and as wide as two football fields," Butler said. "Piles and piles were left along the shoreline after the Blanco River receded back to its banks. RV's, houses and cars were mangled among all the piles."
Butler told News On 6 that flood victims who lost everything kept coming up to them asking if there was anything they could do to help care for the search dogs.
"Very humbling," she said.
