Cherokee Nation Marshals used a piece of surplus military equipment to get a tribal member trapped by flood water.

Jessie Frost, 77, needed to make it to a dialysis appointment, but rising waters had him stuck on the wrong side of the Illinois River.

Cherokee Marshals used a surplus military truck and drove through more than three-feet of water to get Frost.

Marshals and EMS used a combination of the truck and life rafts to bring Frost safely across the river.
