With the Memorial Day holiday weekend ahead, several state park campgrounds and boat ramps as well as U.S. Army Corps of Engineers recreation areas in eastern Oklahoma are closed due to high water.

The state tourism department says some camp sites and/or boat ramps at Sequoyah Bay State Park, Sequoyah State Park, Lake Eufaula and Tenkiller State Park are impacted by high water.

Oklahoma State Park status

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Tulsa says recent rains have reduced the number of camping sites, boat ramps and beach areas which are open at a number of its recreational areas.

Park and campground closures

With more rain expected this weekend, state and federal officials recommend you check the status of your favorite camping and boating destinations before leaving home.
