LeFlore County firefighters rescued a driver who attempted to cross a flooded road early Tuesday near Pocola. They are still looking for a Spiro man who disappeared Monday near the Poteau River.
KFSM, the CBS affiliate in Fort Smith says Pocola firefighters used an inflatable boat to get the unidentified man off his truck after he got stuck in high water on the Old Pocola Highway. They said the man climbed onto the roof while waiting for firefighters to reach him.
Meanwhile, searchers are looking for Dennis Donaho, 60, of Spiro who was last seen Monday morning driving his tractor. They said he was looking for some missing cattle near the Poteau River.
The LeFlore County Sheriff's Office says the tractor was found Monday afternoon north of Spiro.
Rescue crews resumed their search Tuesday and have told KFSM they believe they have a good idea where Donaho's body is. A dive team has been called in to aid in the search.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is reminding residents to not play, swim, float or even go near any flood waters. Troopers said drivers need to continue to "Turn Around, Don't Drown."
