The threat of severe weather for eastern Oklahoma returns Thursday evening.
News On 6 meteorologist Stacia Knight says more storms which have developed over southwest Oklahoma are slowly pushing their way east. This time, some of those storms could still be severe as they approach the Tulsa area late Thursday into the early hours on Friday.
Hail and gusty winds will be the main threat, but there is a slight chance an isolated tornado could develop after dark.
Knight says the threat of severe weather will remain in place for all of eastern Oklahoma until Sunday morning. Friday and Saturday highs are expected to hit the lower 80s, but come Sunday, the temperature will drop back into the upper 70s as the storm system moves eastward into Arkansas and Missouri.
