A Fort Smith waitress said she received a $2,000 tip from a generous customer April 28.
Loran Lopez works at Logan's Roadhouse in the Arkansas community and was completely shocked when she discovered the receipt showing her tip.
Lopez told KFSM, the CBS affiliate in Fort Smith, she didn't personally know the woman who left the tip, but she had heard of the customer before. Tuesday was the first time she served the customer and actually spoke with her.
The waitress didn't look at the receipt immediately when it was handed to her, but when she did look at it later, she was stunned.
“I'm pretty sure my jaw dropped to the floor, and my heart stopped,” Lopez said.
In addition to Lopez's $2,000 tip, the unnamed customer also gave the bartender a $700 tip and each cook a $100 tip, the waitress said.
The customer said she knew she didn't have to tip, but she wanted to tip everyone who served her while she was there, according to Lopez.
Lopez said, “I had so many rough nights here lately, and then she did that. I'm forever grateful for it too!”
