Tulsa's proposed budget for the next fiscal year is $758 million. That's about a $70 million dollar increase from last year.
Mayor Dewey Bartlett presented his proposal to a packed audience and city councilors Thursday night.
The increased budget, if approved, in part, will go toward training additional police and firefighters to increase law enforcement strength.
There will be a salary increase for city workers in the equipment operating and labor trades.
Some of that money will also go toward the Improve our Tulsa funding, which focuses on the rehabilitation, maintenance and rebuilding of city roads.
