Tulsa's Melton Truck Lines celebrated the grand opening of its headquarters Thursday, and it's probably not what you're thinking of.
Most trucks on the highway still have CBs but they also have satellite hookups, computers and maybe even Wi-Fi.
There are probably lots of fly by the seat of your pants trucking operations out there, but Melton isn't one of them.
"I was afraid our drivers wouldn't sit here 'cause it's too nice, wrong, they're all over the place," said President and CEO, Bob Peterson.
Peterson said the new 77,000 square-foot headquarters is modern and up-to-date, which goes with a modern and progressive philosophy - keeping and maintaining good people.
"We were losing good, safe productive truck drivers that wanted to work here. They were making good money," Peterson said.
They were losing out to health issues, like high blood pressure and diabetes, so they hired a Wellness Manager a few years ago and built a gym for their employees.
They have equipment and instructed classes, or you can load up a class on the computer and do your workout whenever.
There is a nurse on staff and a doctor comes in three days a week. They have a company store, so you can gear up, and restaurant called Fuel with healthy food options and a chef to prepare it.
There are TV monitors all around celebrating birthdays, anniversaries and other milestones.
And if someone needs to get away for a few minutes, there's a third floor deck with comfortable chairs and a view of downtown.
