Man Escapes Arrest After Tulsa Police Chase

Officers investigating a report of a suspicious man outside a Tulsa store turned into a high speed chase across town early Thursday.

Police said officers were called to the Walmart Market at 31st and Harvard at about 3:30 a.m. As they went to check on a man sitting in a car outside the store, he drove off leading police on a chase to the Pine and Sheridan area. 

During the chase, police said officers lost sight of the car. They eventually found the Toyota Corolla abandoned, disabled and the man gone. 

A search of the neighborhood failed to turn up the man.

Initial reports from police said the man may have been involved in a larceny at the Walmart, but officers were still trying to determine if that was true.
