Some Tulsa police officers gave up part of their weekend to help get kids get back behind the wheel - in a matter of speaking.
For the second year, Officer Kelly Riley organized a free bike repair at the Gilcrease Division.
He say a bike is a kid's freedom, but there are a lot of parents who don't have the tools, parts or money for repairs. So, he got some others officers together to fix flats, brakes, whatever to get those bikes back in working shape.
"It just gives them their freedom, a little wiggle room away from, maybe, mom and dad or whatever," said Officer Kelly Riley, Tulsa Police.
Officers Riley says it's also a good way to show kids that police are their friends, not someone to be scared of.
