Remember Crime Victims At Tulsa Ceremony April 22

People who lost a loved one to crime can honor the dead during a Day of Remembrance ceremony planned for Wednesday, April 22, 2015. Crime victims and survivors will be honored by planting flowers at the Chandler Park Community Center.

The Day of Remembrance in Tulsa is held during National Crime Victims Rights Week, according to District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler.

“This is an important gathering for many of our victims' families,” said District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler. “We offer support to survivors and express the collective sorrow of our community for the loss of each person as a result of violent crime."

Family and friends can gather at 6 p.m. at the park, 6500 West 21st Street in Tulsa.

“It is important we let the families know that we have not forgotten - that we remember the victims, after the headlines fade,” Kunzweiler said.

Flowers are donated by Ted and Debbie Wilson of Ted and Debbie's Flowers in Tulsa. Their son, Jameson Matthew Wilson, was the victim of violent crime in Tulsa.
