23-Year-Old Man Hospitalized In Muskogee Shooting

A man was shot in Muskogee on Saturday after what appears to be a gun battle, police said.

Police told News On 6 that the crime scene is about a block long. They said they found numerous shell casings of various calibers in the area of Junction and Denver and Junction and Elgin streets.

When officers arrived early Saturday evening, they found one victim -- 23-year-old Quincy Simpson -- in the street. Simpson was transported to a hospital with wounds to his shoulder, thigh and shin, according to MPD Officer Lincoln Anderson. Simpson is said to be stable.
