The sheriff's office is still investigating a deputy-involved fatal shooting that took place in north Tulsa on Thursday morning.

We're still waiting on new information to be released by the Tulsa County Sheriff's office.

Friends and family of Eric Harris have set up an impromptu memorial in front of the Dollar General where the shooting took place.

The sheriff's office said undercover deputies had just completed a gun and ammunition purchase from Harris in the store parking lot. Investigators said everything went smoothly until Harris realized he was about to be arrested and began fighting with deputies.

Harris wrangled free during the fight and ran down North Harvard Avenue, deputies said. Deputies chased after Harris and that's when a reserve deputy pulled his gun and fired, according to the sheriff's office.

Harris died at the hospital.

We've reached out to family today and are waiting to hear to back.
