Severe weather ripped through several northeastern Oklahoma counties Thursday evening.
The National Weather Service of Tulsa issued a Tornado Watch just after 7 p.m. Thursday evening and remains active until 2:00 Friday morning for Delaware and Ottawa counties.
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning was also issued for much of the northeastern part of the state.
Several of the storms that are moved across the area were reported to have up to quarter-sized hail associated with them.In addition to the hail, The News On 6 WARN team said some of the storms produced strong winds before they moved rapidly into southwest Missouri and northwest Arkansas.
Parts of Ottawa and Delaware counties were without power due to the storms - about 1,000 customers in Delaware County and 700 in Ottawa County.
News On 6 storm chasers were near Afton in Ottawa County just after 10:00 Thursday evening and reported seeing several power flashes in the area. There were also two semis that overturned on I-44 near Afton.
Storm tracker Darren Stephens said a tornado damaged barns and homes in the area, and even carried a livestock trailer a quarter of a mile.
After the cold front, temperatures are expected in the 60s Friday, Saturday and Sunday, before warming into the 80s on Monday.
