Police say a man is dead after a shooting outside a north Tulsa bar early Friday.
Officers responded a shots fired call at the Obsessions bar on North Peoria near Mohawk Boulevard just after 2 a.m. When police arrived they found a 37-year-old man dead from a bullet wound and two cars struck by gunfire.
Officers said the shooting happened just after the bar closed and about 100 people were leaving. Police Sgt. Dave Walker said a fight broke out in the bar involving several women. It then moved outside into the parking lot where multiple shots were fired.
Police say it is unclear if the victim, who has not been identified, was targeted by the shooters or simply got caught in the crossfire.
Officers recovered dozens of shell casings in the parking lot and believe there were three shooters. Sgt. Walker said the three shooters were all men. He said two of them tried to steal a car but struck a light pole nearby. They abandoned the car and ran away.
Detectives took at least six people to the police station to be questioned. So far, no one has been arrested.
Anyone with information about the fatal shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS.
