Sand Springs city manager says workers are fanning out across their community Thursday to assess storm damage.

Elizabeth Gray says until their assessment is complete, she is asking residents to stay away from any damage while those workers determine what work needs to be done.

She says River City Park is closed and will remain closed until workers have cleaned up any damage to the park.

Gray says city water service is operating normally and PSO is working to restore power.

"We are thankful for the outpouring of care from our area neighbors as we work through this disaster. It is evident there is a lot of pride in our community here in Sand Springs," said Elizabeth Gray.

For anyone interested in making donations to families in need, the Sand Springs office of the Salvation Army is accepting drop-off donations at 4403 South 129th East Avenue.

Items needed include water bottles, individually wrapped snack items and toiletries. Any questions can be answered by calling the Salvation Army at 918-245-2237.
