A man was arrested by Owasso Police for several counts, including possession of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school.
According to police, around 2:30 Monday afternoon officers were sent to 13413 East 106th Street North in Owasso to help medics with a combative person.
Police said when they arrived the man, later identified as James Seymour, bit an Owasso medic on the hand and had to be restrained.
Once officers were able to place handcuffs on Seymour, he told them he was a sleep in his van when people woke him up. Police said they asked if Seymour had been drinking or taken medication and he told them no.
After being taken to a nearby hospital, the report says Seymour was arrested for public drunk and assault and battery on a medical technician.
Officers began an inventory on Seymour's car, according to the report, and found syringes, baggies of marijuana and methamphetamine.
Jail records show Seymour is being held on several complaints including assault and battery on a school employee/emergency personnel, possession of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school, possession with intent within 1,000 feet of a school and public intoxication.
Records show he's being held on a $27,350 bond.
