Tulsa Man Searching For Witness To Alleged Road Rage Incident

A man, who claims he was the victim of road-rage, is asking for people who saw the accident to come forward.

Brad Haarsager has been standing on the corner near 31st and Harvard for weeks, holding up signs, hoping the right person sees it and stops.

He said without a witness backing up his story about the accident, the insurance company won't cover medical bills or repairs, and he can't afford to pay them.

“I want someone to come forward and tell the truth. That's all I'm after, is the truth," Haarsager said.

He and a friend have been standing near 31st and Harvard, holding up signs that say "Road rage accident, please stop and talk."

A few weeks ago Haarsager was driving north on Harvard when, he said, he switched lanes in front of the wrong driver.

"He immediately got up on my bumper and tried to stop me from getting in that spot, there was plenty of room, there shouldn't have been a problem," he said.

Haarsager said the guy driving was fueled with rage.

"He was trying to pass me in the center turn lane and when that didn't work he side-swiped me," he said.

Both pulled over. Haarsager was driving a rental car and the driver's side was dented and scratched.

"I got out of my car to take pictures of his vehicle and he chased me back to my car. The guy was intimidating," he said.

Haarsager told officers what happened, but the man who hit him told police a different story. Since no witnesses pulled over, there's no one to set the record straight.

"Tell me why you need that witness, for the insurance to even believe my story," Haarsager said.

Without the witness, the other driver's insurance won't cover the cost of repairs or medical bills.

"I had to have a back injection, my back was hurting. My headaches wouldn't go away," Haarsager said.

He is already on disability. The only option he has now is to stand outside and hope the right person drives by.

"There are probably ten drivers there that saw it and can verify what I'm telling is true," he said.

Police said anytime you witness an accident, to pull over and at least leave your name and number. You don't have to stay any longer than that, but it greatly helps in their investigation.
