Oklahoma University's gymnastics programs are achieving great successes this season. The two team's have remained top-ranked, with some standout gymnasts including Alec Robin of the men's team and Haley Scaman of the women's team.
Men's Team
On Tuesday, Alec Robin of the men's team was named MPSF Gymnast of the week after his performance against No. 2 undefeated Illinois (this past Friday). In the meet, the senior recorded scores over 15 in all three events he competed in. Amongst the three, Robin snagged his highest score on the floor exercise, posting a career-high 15.800. The defending national champion of the floor exercise and vault also exceled on the high-bar, to help the Sooners set the NCAA record for the second time.
The OU men return to action on Sunday, March 8th, in California to take on the No. 6 Golden Bears. The meet is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. and will air live on the Pac-12 Network.
Women's Team
Haley Scaman of the No. 1 ranked OU women's gymnastics team was named Big 12 gymnast of the week for the fifth time this season, following the team's outstanding performances this past weekend. With the sweep of No. 16 Illinois, the team recorded its second highest overall score of the season. The junior had a great night, posting three 9.925 performances on the vault, bars and floor. On both vault and floor, she ranked top five nationally.
The Sooner women are set to host No.3 Florida on Friday at the Lloyd Noble Center. The meet will start at 6:45 p.m.
