Tulsa Police arrested a man Wednesday evening they believe was responsible for stealing a car and leading police on a chase near Union High School earlier in the day.
Officers tracked down Kelvin Chaplin, 24, thanks to the help of a witness after searching for him for several hours.
Chaplin was taken to the Tulsa County jail just after 10 p.m. after Chaplin got out the car and ran into the Barrington Apartment complex north of the school. Police said he left his cell phone and jacket in the car. Officers said a witness to the car theft followed Chaplin and pointed him out to officers.
Kelvin Chaplin was booked into the Tulsa County jail on complaints of possession of a stolen vehicle, eluding, interfering with a police officer and not having a drivers license.
Jail records show he has a court appearance set for March 4, 2015.
