A Claremore man is dead after a three-vehicle crash in Rogers County. Troopers say Steven Hammonds died in a head-on crash on Highway 88 at County Road East 523.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol responded to the wreck outside Tiawah at about 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

Trooper Andy Floyd told News On 6 Hammonds crossed the center line and sideswiped one car before hitting a Ford Expedition SUV head on.

Tiawah firefighters pulled Michael Ross from the burning SUV, Floyd said. Ross, 26, his wife and two small children were in the vehicle when the rescue took place.

Ross, a Claremore resident, was taken to a Tulsa hospital where he is said to be stable with internal and leg injuries. His wife Amanda Ross, 25, is also said to be stable with internal injuries.

The two children, both boys under 3, were treated and released.

Ross' foot was trapped, and Tiawah firefighters freed him by cutting the driver's side door from the SUV as they put out the fire, troopers say.

The two people in the Toyota Yaris, the car that was sideswiped, were both treated and released at Tulsa hospitals. They were identified as Inola residents Blong Vang, 57, and Ge Xiong, 46.
