Tulsa Police Arrest Driver They Say Ran From Car Crash

Tulsa Police arrested a man they say ran from a car crash overnight. 

Police said Ian Shahan, 30, was headed east on 11th Street near Yale at about 12:45 a.m. when his car hit a curb, took out a light pole and rolled over. Witnesses told police Shahan climbed out through passenger door then ran as police arrived. Officers arrested him a short distance away. 

Police said Shahan had slurred speech and an odor of alcohol on his breath. 

Chip Knight said he was in a book store playing a game when the crash happened. He said the Shahan's car barely missed his car before hitting the pole.

Police booked Ian Shahan into the Tulsa County jail on a DUI complaint. Jail records show he has a court appearance set for February 13, 2015.
