The funeral for a Caney, Kansas volunteer firefighter Tuesday afternoon will lead to brief closures of Highway 75 north of Bartlesville.

The community is located just north of the Kansas state line.

Cliff Sanders, 55, of Caney died following a stroke on January 29, 2015 responding to the community's fire station because of a grass fire.

Caney Fire Chief Billy Kolb said prior to Sanders' funeral, the Kansas Highway Patrol stopped north and southbound traffic so firefighters could raise a flag across Highway 75 in Caney

Following a memorial service, the Kansas Highway Patrol will again shut down traffic on Highway 75 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. for the funeral procession

Kolb said Sanders had been a volunteer firefighter in Caney for 24 years.
