Police are looking for witnesses after finding a man with five bullet wounds in his chest sitting in a car in the 3500 block of East Xyler at about 10:30 p.m.
Police went to the scene after a caller reported hearing gunshots. Police Corporal Dan Miller said the 41-year-old victim appeared to have been shot about a block away and then drove himself to where officers found him. He said the victim was slumped over the steering wheel and was honking the horn when officers found him.
"People are going to bed and 'We heard the shots, we heard the car horn', but that's about the information we have so far," said Cpl. Dan Miller.
He EMSA took the victim to a hospital where he underwent surgery. Police haven't released his name.
Corporal Miller said the biggest problem now is finding someone who actually witnessed the shooting. He said they don't have a description of the shooter.
If you saw something or know about the shooting, Tulsa Police ask you to call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COP.
