Firefighters, Landowner Believe Arsonist Is At Work In Rural Creek County

A large fire continues to burn Thursday afternoon southeast of Mannford in Creek County.

A landowner, who did not want to go on camera says arson is an ongoing problem in this area. She told News On 6, in the last twenty years they have caught people partying and setting fires on her land several times. She believes that's what happened Wednesday evening when this latest fire broke out.

The Keystone Fire Department also believes the fire may be the work of an arsonist.

It was first reported at about 9:30 p.m. and firefighters called it a "good sized fire" in area with no homes or structures nearby.

Firefighters continue to investigate the cause and fight the fire.
