Millard House previously served as deputy superintendent at TPS and a former principal at Anderson Elementary. He was also one of the architects of the consolidation plan for Tulsa schools.
Dr. Deborah Gist is a former education official for Washington D.C. with classroom experience in Texas and Florida.
Both candidates are Tulsa Public Schools candidates, have strong ties to the Tulsa community and what it takes in talent and experience to lead the school system, according to the school board.
The school board plans to do interviews this weekend and announce their pick next week.
