Oklahoma Military Family Surprised With New Mayes County Home

A Mayes County military veteran's family got the surprise of a lifetime during halftime at the University of Tulsa's basketball game with the University of Connecticut Tuesday evening. 

Operation Finally Home teamed up with several local companies to surprise a Salina Army veteran and his family with a brand new home.

U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Ronny Sweger and his family learned they were getting a new home in front of a big crowd at the Reynolds Center.

Sweger has been deployed seven times to Afghanistan, Iraq and Africa from 2001 to 2004. He's been awarded two Purple Hearts, multiple Bronze Stars and a Special Forces Tab. 

Tuesday, Ronny Sweger, his wife Claudia and their three sons, Briggs, Brett and Brooks learned they were getting a new home during halftime of the basketball game.

Operation Finally Home is a non-profit organization and gives homes to members of the military who are severely wounded and disabled. All of the homes are given to veterans mortgage free.
