Parents are always looking for ways to keep kids busy when it's too cold to play outside. One of the places getting lots of attention right now is an indoor playground at Tulsa's Whiteside Park.
Gayle Nealis takes her niece, Elizabeth, and her sisters to the indoor playground twice a week in the winter.
"This is great because they can get out and run and climb on stuff and not tear up the house," Nealis said.
It's called Bikes, Balls and You at Whiteside Park, and it's held most every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 9:30 to 11; mostly for kids ages one thru five.
Lauren Colbert with Whiteside Park said it's usually pretty busy, "Usually if it's cold like this outside, we'll be booming in here."
She figures maybe 70 kids were there Thursday.
You can bring your own bike or trike or scooter, and it's a good place to work on your indoor walking, dribbling or jumping.
Darlene Duda said she takes her grandson, Jonathan, there not only because it's a way for kids to learn to share their toys and learn to play together, but also because it tires him out.
"By the time we leave here he's ready for a nap, that's the best part," she said with a laugh.
It's safe, climate controlled and you can watch your kids play while parents can have a conversation with other adults.
