Creek County Homeowner Fights House Fire With Hose Until Firefighters Arrive

The Kellyville Fire Department responded to a house fire around 1:00 Monday afternoon.

A Creek County homeowner said he used a garden hose to fight a house fire until officials arrived.

The Kellyville Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 17000 block of South 184th West Avenue around 1:00 Monday afternoon.

Reports said the mother and daughter residents 911 after the returned to the home and saw smoke coming from inside and felt the front door was warm. The woman said she also called and told her husband about the fire.

When the husband arrived, he said he grabbed a garden hose to battle the fire until Kellyville and Sapulpa fire department arrived.

Officials said the homeowner did a great job of putting out the fire before they arrived and possibly helped save the home.

Reports said the outside of the home didn't show much damage, but the inside was "gutted."

No major injuries were reported, but one of the family's dogs was found dead inside the home; another was rescued.

The male homeowner was treated by EMS at the scene of the fire.

The cause of the fire has not been identified.
