Tulsa police say a woman was wounded in what she reportedly admitted was a drug-related shooting late Friday night. She underwent surgery and is talking with police, according to Detective Dave Walker.
Officers were called to the 3200 block of East Archer and found the 40-year-old woman with a gunshot wound.
The woman was able to tell police she was shot by a man she knows as "Slim," Walker said in a news release.
The suspect is described as a tall and slender black male, 6'4" to 6'6" tall and under 200 pounds. He was wearing a black hoodie and black pants, Walker said.
He was armed with a handgun and left the apartment on foot, according to two female witnesses that were also at the apartment. No vehicle was seen.
Walker said that evidence at the scene made them suspect the shooting was drug related, and he later said the woman confirmed that drugs were involved.
"The investigation is not to the point where we know who Slim is nor do we know where to find him," he said. "We believe there are other witnesses that were in the apartment either when the shooting occurred or just prior to the shooting.
"It is possible that Slim was in the apartment when the victim arrived, and that may call into question the accounts given to us by the interviewed witnesses that did not flee."
The woman is expected to survive her wounds.
Anyone with information on this shooting should call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-2677 or email homicide@cityoftulsa.org.
