Two teenagers are being held in the Tulsa County Jail in connection with the death of a Texas woman.

Thursday night police tracked the two teens to a motel room in Sapulpa. They are now awaiting an extradition hearing to Texas.

Investigators in Sapulpa are sending the evidence they found in the hotel room down to Texas.

The two teens, 16-year-old Christian Sims and 17-year-old Ashley Morrison, were wanted in connection with the Thursday shooting death of a 67-year-old woman near Paris, Texas.

Police found Sims and Morrison in a second story room in a motel off of I-44 in Sapulpa.

Sapulpa Police said Texas authorities tracked the two to Oklahoma after they said the suspects stole the victim's car and credit card.

Lieutenant Jamie Noe with Sapulpa Police said, "Investigators from Lamar County [Texas] had developed information that the vehicle was possibly in the Sapulpa area and they forwarded that information and requested that we be on the lookout for it."

Police said the suspects used the victim's credit card at a gas station in McAlester.

Sims and Morrison were tracked to the Motel 6 in Sapulpa; police found the car they were looking for and the pair surrendered without incident.

"We were glad they were taken into custody without any further violence and that we were able to peacefully resolve the situation," Noe said.

Sims and Morrison were taken to the Tulsa County Jail on murder complaints and investigators got warrants to search the motel.

Sapulpa Police said they found several guns and property believed to be connected to the victim in Texas.

“It's a shame, you know, here are the holidays, these folks are being taken to the county jail and charged with murder around Christmas," said Noe.

The teens are awaiting an extradition hearing to Texas. That should happen as early as next week.
