Woman Holds Her Attacker At Bay With Kitchen Knife, Tulsa Police Say

A Tulsa man has been arrested after he beat a woman bloody while he was drunk early Saturday morning, an arrest report says.

According to the report, an officer arrived to a domestic violence call to find a woman holding Paul Martin at bay with a large kitchen knife. She was covered in blood, backing away from him as he continued toward her, TPD said.

The officer said he told Martin to stop and put his hands behind his back to be handcuffed. As he was being placed in the cuffs, Martin tried to run, the report said. The officer ran after him and was able to get him on the ground and in custody outside an apartment complex.

The woman had a bloody nose, both eyes were swollen and there was redness to her neck, the report says.

Martin, 36, was arrested for domestic assault and battery and public intoxication and booked into the Tulsa County jail.
