The rivalry between OU and OSU runs deep, and now they are taking bedlam to the operating table.
Cancer Treatment Centers of America held its first annual surgery competition Thursday. Surgery residents from both schools faced off in dry lab competitions, meaning they didn't actually operate on real people.
Instead, the students showed off their skills on laparoscopic machines and a robotic simulator.
"In order to have innovation, we need innovators. And those innovators are these residents, future surgeons," said Peter Baik with Cancer Centers of America.
Just like all good college competitions, a traveling trophy is awarded to the winning school, and it was OSU that ended up taking the trophy home.
