OnStar, K-9 Officers Lead Tulsa Police To SUV Theft Suspect

Tulsa Police credit K-9 officers and a satellite tracking service for helping them track down a man they say stole an SUV from a Sapulpa rental car business early Tuesday. 

Officers say OnStar contacted them about a 2015 Chevy Tahoe that had been stolen from Enterprise Rental in Sapulpa at about 2:20 a.m. OnStar told them the SUV was parked at the Desert Hills Motel at 11th and Canton in Tulsa. As officers arrived, they saw Kenneth Buckley, 31, standing next to the Tahoe and when he saw them he ran. 

According to Sergeant Mike Parsons, K-9 officers tracked Buckley to a storage shed behind a home near 12th and Erie about an hour later. He said the dogs bit Buckley twice when he refused to surrender. 

EMSA paramedics treated Buckley for several dog bites. 

Parsons said Buckley broke into the Enterprise office in Sapulpa, grabbed a bunch of keys and drove off in the Tahoe.

Police booked Buckley into the Tulsa County jail on complaints of possession of a stolen vehicle and resisting arrest as well as a parole violation out of California.

Officers questioned his wife, who was inside the Tahoe, then released her.
