You've probably heard the saying, there's something out there for everyone; well truer words were never spoken for a BMX and pro bike rider named Tyler Brown.

Tuesday, Brown told a gymnasium full of kids in Broken Arrow that finding BMX at 12 years old changed everything.

"It's the best race of the year. It's the biggest race you'll find in the world," he said of the nationals.

The professional BMX racer operates a BMX track in California and as the kids in Broken Arrow found out, he's a pretty good spokesman for the sport.

Brown spoke at Aspen Creek Elementary in Broken Arrow Tuesday. He said pitching BMX to young kids is essential for the survival of the sport.

"Who knows, there might be the next Olympian sitting out in the audience," Brown said.

He showed them a video about his career in the sport and about how he discovered BMX and that changed his life.

"It's really blessed me with a lot of opportunities," Brown said.

The BMX Grand Nationals are this weekend inside the River Spirit Expo at the fairgrounds.

They begin practicing on Thanksgiving and the races start on Friday.
