TU men's basketball will take on Abilene Christian Wednesday, November 18.
Tulsa won their last game against Louisiana-Lafayette, 64-53, making them 1-1 on the season. Junior guards Rashad Ray and Marquel Curtis scored 16 points apiece, helping lead the Golden hurricanes to their first regular season win. Forward D'Andre Wright added 14 points and five rebounds to the team's win. TU played tough defense, forcing 25 turnovers. Louisiana-Lafayette's mishaps led to 20 points for the Golden Hurricanes. TU was 43 percent from the field in the first half, while the Rajin' Cajuns only connected with 32 percent of their field goals. Coach Frank Haith stated that his team is still working on player movement, ball movement, and moving without the ball, but he believed that they were improving at those objectives.
The game this Wednesday will be ACU's first away game of the season. They are currently 1-0. They annihilated Hillsdale Baptist in their last game, 101-61. They were led by junior guard Parker Wentz, who scored 23 points. He was 8 of 11 shooting from the floor, and was 4 of 6 from three-point range.
Wednesday will be the first time ever that the two teams compete against each other. The game tips off at 7:05 p.m. in the Reynolds Center.
