ORU men's basketball will hit the road to take on Missouri this Wednesday. The Tigers are 1-1 in their overall season play. They lost their regular season opener to the University of Missouri-Kansas City, 69-61, and then bounced back and won their next game against Valparaiso, 56-41.
The Golden Eagles are rolling off of a big win from the PSO Mayor's Cup this past Saturday. ORU is currently undefeated this season, including exhibition play. They've held all opponents to under 70 points, while scoring over 70 points.
Obi Emegano was named Summit League Player of the Week after scoring 26 points, and contributing a career high of four assists, leading his team to victory over TU. After the game Coach Scott Sutton said, “[I'm] really proud of our guys. They battled again. They didn't play well, but they came up with plays. I think we all put too much into ‘What's wrong with Obi,' but that was the real Obi tonight. He was the best player on the floor tonight.” Emegano scored over half of his total points in the second half. He was also 14 of 16 from the free throw line. Korey Billbury was also a game leader for Oral Roberts, pulling down 11 rebounds.
Wednesday night's game is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Mizzou Arena. The game will be accessible online on the SEC Network +.
