A Ponca City man has pleaded not guilty in the slaying of a Colorado man earlier this year.

Randy Nevsimal, 31, entered his plea Monday in a western Nebraska courtroom. He and another Ponca City man, David Saxton, 45, are charged with second-degree murder of a Lonnie Sanchez on September 16, 2014.

Sanchez's body, wrapped in a tarp was found along the South Platte River. An autopsy showed that Sanchez died from blunt force trauma.

Saxton has not yet entered a plea. He has a Lincoln County court hearing set for November 26, 2014.

The next court date for Nevsimal is set for January 12, 2015.
