Man Hurt Trying To Save Pet From House Fire Near Claremore

Firefighters from the Claremore and Northwest Rogers County Fire Departments say a man was hurt when he tried to save a pet from his burning home.

Firefighters from the Claremore and Northwest Rogers County Fire Departments say a man was hurt when he tried to save a pet from his burning home.

The fire happened at the house at 4150 Road and Oaklawn Sunday night. 

The Northwest Rogers County Fire Department reports a man who lives in the home is in a Tulsa hospital after he was burned when he went back into the burning home to rescue a dog. A woman in the home made it out uninjured.

Firefighters said the home was a total loss. 

Firefighters say one of the dogs is safe, and they were still looking for the other one.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
