ORU Women's Basketball Takes Loss To Defending Big 12 Champs

The ORU women's basketball team was taken down by Baylor Friday night, 101-60.

Oral Roberts took on the defending Big 12 champs for their season opener, and couldn't over power them. The eighth ranked Lady Bears ran the floor putting up back to back buckets, and containing a lead over the Golden Eagles.

The Golden Eagles had 31 turnovers by the end of the game. Baylor took advantage of ORU's lack off efficiency, and knocked down 37 buckets off their mistakes.

ORU's Vicky McIntyre had a double-double, with 10 points and 17 rebounds, in her Golden Eagle debut. Freshman guard Jordan Doyle led ORU in scoring with 14 points. Baylor's Nina Davis led her team and all scorers with 22 points. She finished the game with a double-double.

Oral Roberts shot 71 percent from the free throw line, and hit five three-pointers in ten attempts.

This loss means that Baylor has won the last seven games they've played against ORU. They now have a 7-2 all-time series lead over the Golden Eagles.

ORU heads to Knoxville Monday to take on Tennessee. The game tips off at 6:00 p.m.
