ORU Takes On TU for the PSO Mayor’s Cup

Last week's game against Rogers State was the final exhibition game for ORU. The team will host TU this Saturday, kicking off their regular season. This game will be a battle for the PSO Mayor's Cup. The PSO Mayor's Cup is the historic rivalry between the two crosstown teams.

The Golden Eagles won last year's meeting, 74-68. Despite last year's win, TU is the all-time series leader over ORU, holding a 32-17 record.

If the Golden Eagles fall to Tulsa Saturday, it will be their fifth loss to them in the last six meetings. ORU has been playing both sides of the ball well. In their last two exhibition games their defense was able to contain defenders, while they took advantage of offensive possessions.

ORU will be returning four of its five starters from last year's roster opening play.

The game tips off at 7:00 p.m. in the Mabee Center, and will be aired on ESPN3.
