OSU takes on the Texas Longhorns Saturday at Boone Pickens Stadium. The game kicks off at 6:30 p.m.
OSU was shut down by Kansas State in their last game, 48-14. The Wildcats came out strong, returning the kick off for an 86 yard touchdown. The opening of the game set the tempo for what took place throughout the remainder of it. Wildcats wide receiver Tyler Lockett had six receptions for 94 yards and a touchdown. Lockett, whom is a Tulsa, Oklahoma, native, leads Kansas State in school history with most receiving yards.
After the two teams went touchdown for touchdown, the Wildcats quickly took over the game putting up 38 unanswered points.
OSU is currently 5-4 overall, 3-3 in conference play, 4-1 at home, and 1-2 away. Texas is split even at 5-5.
A win this week would make Oklahoma State bowl-eligible. This would be the ninth straight year for the Pokes, which is a school record. Oklahoma State has won three of their last four games over Texas.
The Cowboys have also won 22 of their last 25 games played at Boone Pickens. An OSU win would be the first over the Longhorns in Stillwater since 1997. Texas has a 23-5 all-time lead over the Cowboys in the series between the two schools. The Longhorns are 8-1 overall in Stillwater, and have won seven consecutive games over the Cowboys at Boone Pickens Stadium.
During last year's meeting between the two teams OSU crushed Texas in Austin, 38-13. This win was Oklahoma State's third straight win in Texas, making them the third team since World War II to beat the Longhorns on their turf that many times consecutively.
Saturday night will be OSU's senior night and last home game of the season. The Cowboys will be honoring their 18 seniors prior to kickoff.
The game will be televised on FOX.
