Water Line Breaks Cause Slick Streets In Tulsa, Sand Springs

Several water line breaks in Tulsa and Sand Springs have caused slick spots on roads because the leaking water is freezing in the 20-degree temperatures.

Several water line breaks in Tulsa and Sand Springs have caused slick spots on roads because the leaking water is freezing in the 20-degree temperatures.

The Tulsa Water Department reports an 8-inch water line break at 38th and Sheridan. The city expects the break to be repaired by Wednesday afternoon. In the meantime, workers have put down sand on the road to help traction.

The city of Sand Springs is fixing a water line break on a bridge at 118th West Avenue and Highway 51. The Oklahoma Department of  Transportation has applied sand and salt on the bridge and advised drivers to slow down.
