University of Tulsa quarterback Dane Evans was named the American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week, it was announced on Monday by the league office. Evans, 6'1", 215-pound sophomore from Sanger, Texas, completed 16-of-24 for 67-percent, 286 yards and 5 TDs without an interception in a 38-28 victory over SMU on Saturday. After starting out 2-of-8 on Tulsa's first two possessions, Evans completed his next 12 passes, including four for touchdowns in leading Tulsa to a 35-13 lead entering the fourth quarter.

SMU scored the first points, but Evans then started his 12-pass completion streak with an 18-yard TD pass to tie the score. He added touchdown passes of 42 yards, 64 yards and one-yard in that first-half stretch, while adding a 32-yard TD toss later. His one-yard TD toss came on a 4th down play, while his 32-yard pass to Keyarris Garrett hit the receiver in the corner of the end zone.

Other weekly winners were: Tulane cornerback Parry Nickerson and Memphis kicker Jake Elliott.

Evans is the second Tulsa player to earn American Athletic Conference Player of the Week accolades this year, as receiver Keevan Lucas also received the offensive award earlier this season.

Tulsa junior safety Michael Mudoh was one of five league players named to The American Honor Roll this week. Mudoh totaled 12 tackles for his fifth double-figure tackle game of the year and 13th of his career. He also recovered one fumble and ended the game with an interception of an SMU pass at the Tulsa 5-yard line.

Tulsa goes to Orlando, Florida this week for a Friday night game at Bright House Networks Stadium for a 7:00 p.m. (CT) kickoff against the UCF Knights.
