Tulsa Police say three liquor store clerks jumped an armed robber Wednesday evening and held him until officers arrived.
Officers said Timothy Shannon, 27, walked into the Garnett Plaza Liquor store at 3009 South Garnett at about 7:45 p.m. He went to the counter, pulled a handgun and demanded money. When he stuffed the gun back into his waistband to grab the cash the clerk and two other employees grabbed him, according to police.
"They started struggling, there were two or three other clerks in there. They all three piled on and were able to subdue the suspect and call 911," said Tulsa Police Sgt. Bradley.
Police said Shannon admitted to robbing the Brandy Wine Liquor store at 12817 East 41st Street on Tuesday, and trying to rob the Family Dollar store at 12919 East 21st the next day. In that incident, the clerk told Shannon she couldn't open the safe and he left.
