Edison Preparatory School band members are recovering after a crash Friday night that left some midtown residents without power temporarily.
The Screamin' Eagles band members had been practicing at school for state competition that is coming up on Wednesday, a band parent tells News On 6.
A police officer at the scene said the driver was speeding and crashed into a power pole near 36th and Pittsburg at about 9:30 p.m. The truck was badly damaged with the rear end wrapped around the pole.
The teens were wearing safety belts, authorities said.
According to the band's Facebook page, two of the teens were admitted to a local hospital. One girl, a drum major, has two cracked vertebrae in her lower back. A boy has a head injury and punctured lung, the social media account states.
