Tulsa Police arrested a 25-year-old driver armed with a crossbow and a handgun after a pursuit that ended in Owasso overnight.
News On 6 was there when officers stopped the car in reference to an auto theft in progress at Pine and Mingo at about 1:30 a.m. Seconds later, the driver sped away.
The police helicopter and officers on the ground chased the car across north Tulsa and onto Highway 169 to just north of 76th Street North where the driver crashed near 4th and Elm.
Police Captain Laurel Ledbetter said the driver, Daniel Hines and a passenger got out of the car and ran. "The driver was located with the assistance of one of our K-9's. We have since located the said crossbow and the said firearm that the driver was in possession of," said Tulsa Police Captain Laurel Ledbetter.
Police found the passenger sitting on a bench in a park next to the Owasso YMCA.
Ledbetter officers took Hines and the passenger into custody on outstanding warrants and booked into the Tulsa County jail.
Jail records show Hines was booked into jail on complaints of possession of a stolen vehicle, eluding, possession of a firearm, possession of marijuana and resisting arrest. He has a October 21, 2014 court appearance set.
