Tulsa Police arrested a man they say stabbed his roommate to death Monday evening.

Police responded to the Cheyenne Arms building at 12th and Cheyenne at about 9:15 p.m.

Tulsa Police Sergeant Dave Walker said the caller claimed the victim, Sukie Francis, 42, had fallen on a knife after an argument with the caller. Officers found the woman dead on the floor.

Walker said detectives questioned the caller, Billy Brown, 53, and searched the apartment. He said evidence indicated Francis' death was not an accident. Instead, they believe Brown and Francis were in a struggle before - they say - she was stabbed twice.

Walker said police found a steak knife lying next to the victim.

Police arrested Brown and booked him into the Tulsa County jail on a complaint of first-degree murder. An arrest report says Brown told police "You already got me," before asking for an attorney.

Sgt. Walker said Sukie Francis' death is Tulsa's 45th homicide of the year.
