The Oral Roberts University women's basketball team was picked to finish seventh this season it was announced by the Summit League office on Tuesday.
ORU picked up 178 points, finishing ahead of Omaha (165) and North Dakota State (158). South Dakota State was an overwhelming pick to win the league, earning 27 of the 32 first place votes and 513 points, nearly 100 points more than South Dakota, who was picked second.
The 2014-15 edition of the Golden Eagles will be one of the youngest teams in the country with seven true freshmen on the roster. It is a talented roster, though, with five freshmen who earned all-state honors as well as Florida/Oklahoma State transfer and 6-7 center Vicky McIntyre, who will anchor the middle with her 7-1 wingspan.
ORU opens the regular season at Baylor (Nov. 14) and at Tennessee (Nov. 17).
