New Tulsa Public Schools Police Chief Now On The Job

The new chief of police for Tulsa Public Schools is now on the job.

It was the first day of work for Chief Robert Swain and he spent the day meeting his team and getting familiar with his new surroundings.

Swain was with Colorado Springs police before he took over as security commander for Denver Public Schools.

He's been working in the private sector, but said he's excited about the new opportunity.

Swain described himself as approachable and hands-on, but he said don't expect any big changes right away.

"If something's working, I think you stay with what's working, and then try to figure out if there's some changes, positive changes that can be made, that you do that,” he said.

Swain said his top priority is student safety.
